Personalized Patient Focus
The nurses practicing at Barton make their patients their primary focus. Individuals practice in an environment that respects and values their unique contributions. Nurses strive for care that reflects understanding of patients emotional, physical and spiritual needs. They pride themselves on providing consistently compassionate care founded on knowledge, enabled by skill, and guided by values. They build relationships with communication, empathy and caring. These relationships support the diverse South Lake Tahoe community and empower individuals by providing education and preventative health care to promote wellness through all stages of life.
Quality Care
The Barton nursing staff actively participates in two California-wide initiatives, CHART and the California Nursing Outcomes Coalition (CalNOC), which has provided empirical based data to our staff teams which assists in improving patient outcomes. Nursing unit councils are identifying and responding to patient safety issues and partnering with leadership to create patient safety initiatives such as ventilator-acquired pneumonia protocols, rapid response teams, hospital acquired pressure ulcer prevention and fall prevention.
New Graduate Nurse Program
This six-month training program is designed to meet the needs of the new nurse with less than one year of experience as a Registered Nurse. For more information, download the attached brochure.
Knowledge, teamwork and adaptability are the milestones of success for the nursing staff at Barton Hospital. Our six month training program of new graduate registered nurses is an example of that commitment. Our staff also received the prestigious Nursing Leadership Team award from Advance for Nurses. Our nurses offer personalized care for all of our patients utilizing the best technology.
